The Deckbuilders Fest sale on Steam runs until Monday, here are our recommendations

Now's your chance to get a discount on any card-driven games you've had sitting on your wishlist: the latest big Steam event is focused on deckbuilders and the adjacent roguelite genre. It all started with the grandfather of deckbuilders, Dominion (not included in the sale because the base game is free to play) and countless developers have taken inspiration from that original big idea of "adding cards to your deck as you play with it."

This general category of games has ballooned in popularity over the last decade to the point that it's hard to keep track of or sort through all the new releases using these descriptors. So we've cross-referenced games that are participating in the sale with titles in our database that we're familiar with to offer up a big list of recommendations for you to check out.

There are loads more games included in the event than just these, such as the newly released Gambonanza which is basically Balatro with chess, and an adaptation of the tabletop deckbuilder Dune: Imperium (a personal favorite) but your mileage may vary in terms of how thinky some of the other featured games may turn out to be.
