The first season of Thinky Dailies is now over! The 61st and final puzzle in our unusual daily puzzle game, where you get a brand new kind of puzzle every day, is now out, and the next chapter of our thinky hero's journey is on the way.
It has all been incredibly exciting. To be honest, the initial announcement was quite scary. We had been working on this for the last couple of years and, while we had shown it to a few people, it was really hard to gauge if our weird idea would find an audience. Seeing all that has happened since then, we couldn’t ask for a better community!
You’ve all given us tons of useful feedback, recommending Thinky Dailies to friends, helping players with hints when they’re stuck, and coming up with all sorts of cool theories about the story. It’s heart-warming to see such an active and kind community. We’re humbled.
We were also completely blown away last week when Sudoku experts Cracking the Cryptic put out a really kind video about Thinky Dailies, and sooo many new people joined! We were honestly not at all prepared for that, but we're really glad to have you all with us.
In the spirit of continuing to make Thinky Dailies the most unusual daily puzzle game ever, this is the part where we do something no other daily puzzle does: we're taking a month-long break before season 2, returning on March 4!
We're sure you can imagine the amount of work that goes into producing all this, so having a small break between seasons helps us get everything ready. As a tiny team, it gives us the much needed space to prepare future puzzles, experiment with new ideas, implement more features, and so on.
We've also always felt a break between seasons would work well as a kind of palate cleanser, giving everyone time to take in the season, to get excited for what’s coming next, and catch up with the latest puzzles. Yep, we're a daily puzzle with the format of a TV show and nobody can stop us!!
I'm sure a few of you are wondering: when does the preview pass end? Well, we had planned to end it earlier, but we were just too busy! However, we will definitely end the preview pass before season 2, opening up Thinky Dailies to everyone without needing an account, so keep an eye out for that.
Of course, there is some risk here that some of you may not return for season 2, but we hope you've enjoyed everything so far and keep an eye out for when the next season starts. We have so many great plans for the narrative and puzzles, so we hope you don't miss it.
HOWEVER, before you go! We are planning to do something fun during the break. Something smaller, and weekly instead of daily. Just keep an eye on your inbox!
