We love games mysterious, eerie, and unsolved, games that let you take the lead and figure out what really happened here. The latest genre Steam is collecting together to showcase in a big themed sale is detective games: from now through Jan 19 you can get some good deals on favorites in addition to some newer stuff in the Steam Detective Fest.
We've done some research and come up with a little list of games on sale that we think are worth checking out, starting with the biggest discounts, if you'd prefer some recommendations rather than just browsing around the sale page yourself:

We also want to throw out a mention of an upcoming detective game that just released its first demo in time for the Fest: I've written before about The Detective's Apprentice, a little indie game clearly inspired by mystery games like the Golden Idol series. It puts you in the role of young Clementine as she learns the trade from her famous detective Aunt Maya. The game takes you through maps of buildings and cities as well as conversations with individual people and asks you to observe crime scenes and use your findings in fill-in-the-blank style journal sections.
You can browse all the featured games on the Steam Detective Fest homepage. The event runs until Monday, January 19th.
