Botany Manor released today, a first-person game centered around slowly exploring the bright and colorful grounds of an English estate. You play as a botanist working to puzzle out how to make various fantastical species of plants and flowers bloom, but the exact mechanisms you’ll be using to accomplish that are left enticingly vague.

All of the game’s trailers have very relaxing vibes, showcasing gorgeous scenery and serene music. Here’s the latest which accompanied the launch, suggesting some elements involved in solving the plant-based puzzles:

Front and center in the game’s presentation is the stunning but not over-detailed aesthetic, an almost painting-like quality that makes the grounds and the manor look like a very inviting place to explore. A spread of different settings and rooms are on display, from extravagant gardens and greenhouses to wide-open kitchens and workbenches covered with botany equipment.

There are some hints about the ways you’ll collect knowledge and help your unique flowers flourish: diagrams and books that have a certain clue-like feel to them are scattered about the property. This looks to me like the exploration elements of a Myst-style game married to popular mechanics found in digital escape room environments, all wrapped in a package that is perhaps made to be a little more approachable and visually appealing.

You can find more info about the game or purchase Botany Manor on Steam now, with a 10% launch discount running through April 16th. If you want to try before you buy, the page also features a free demo.
