More first-person puzzles await in the newly announced sequel to Escape from Mystwood Mansion

Corey Hardt, 10 February 2026

Lost Sock studio, the team behind the first-person escape room puzzle game Escape from Mystwood Mansion, has just revealed their upcoming sequel game, this time in a more open-air jungle setting: Escape the Riddlerock Ruins.

We can see we'll be starting from a base camp deep in the trees, and along with our treasure-finding canine companion, exploring ruined temples and structures from an archaic "Riddlerock" civilization. As with the first game, this one's looking like it'll contain plenty of expected escape-room staples. I spy password keypads, maps to notate, a lock-and-key inventory system and inscriptions to decipher. The page and trailer also show off plenty of vine-covered stone structures to find your way into and there's some mention of "ancient mechanisms."

The first game Mystwood Mansion was about as classic as an escape-room mystery can get: finding your way out from inside a mysterious manor, encountering different puzzle-mechanisms in every room. Lots of stumbling through books to find passcodes that open safes which give you the next piece to the gemstone puzzle you saw previously... you get the idea. I think it's safe to imagine we can expect a similar puzzle design treatment with the new sequel.

Escape the Riddlerock Ruins doesn't yet have a release date, but you can wishlist the game on Steam now. The first game Escape from Mystwood Mansion is currently on sale for 50% off on Steam until February 21st.
