Map out a logic puzzle landscape one segment at a time in the new demo for Tiling Town

Corey Hardt, 21 February 2026

Puzzle players are having fun with a new demo this past week: Tiling Forest is the preview version of the upcoming game Tiling Town, and contains its own unique set of pathway-drawing puzzles. This is a logic puzzle game by way of tile-laying: connecting roads through specified areas using the tile shapes that you've unlocked, like a big town-shaped jigsaw puzzle.

The trailer may give an impression of a game that's relatively simple: just place down the roads so they form a connecting path, so far so easy. Things get tricky in Tiling Town when you're dealing with multiple areas at once and need to determine which ones your limited quantity of tiles will allow you to complete. Each town area in the final game will have its own mechanical nuances and "flavor" of puzzle mechanics, and it's pretty unsual and interesting that the game's free demo is a unique area all its own that won't appear in the main title.

This is the next game from the developer of 2024's Maxwell's Puzzling Demon, a particularly devilish Sokoban game that isn't much to look at but was given the seal of approval of many puzzle enthusiasts (even taking home the Best Challenging Game award in last year's Thinky Awards.) The combination of uncommon mechanics and the track record of this creator has put Tiling Town near the top of many people's radar, and it seems that so far the demo does not disappoint.

We're expecting the full release of Tiling Town sometime in Quarter 3 of this year. For now you can wishlist on Steam where you can also find the free demo titled Tiling Forest.
