Jump your way through another month's worth of clumsy, puzzly platforming.
Leap Year: March is a puzzle-platformer DLC that expands Leap Year. The peculiar jump mechanics from the original game are revisited in a new open world of interconnected rooms. Collecting the 31 days of March is a deeper challenge than the discovery-focused February that will put your exploration skills to the test.
Leap Year’s gameplay was built around activating various abilities based on the height of your fall, and March very much keeps the same rules in place. However, the rooms containing the prized calendar pages are somewhat harder to solve: the paths to think up are more convoluted, and the platforming is also more precise.
March does not hide from the original game’s late revelation that you can navigate the world upside-down, so the mechanic is much more present here, and comes up in a less linear way. Soon enough, the puzzles are as much about finding the path to the page inside a room, as finding the path to enter a room properly. This involves some back-and-forth across the world—but getting some forced practice may turn up to be a blessing in disguise.
Subtle marks you’ll have to notice and make sense of may guide your meandering exploration. Further help is provided in the form of an unlockable map which pinpoints the location of the remaining pages. Appropriately, March is a longer month to go through, but its clever puzzles and pacing strive to elicit a similar sense of wonder.
