This may shock you to hear, but leading research tells us that physical puzzles actually date back much farther than puzzle videogames... it turns out logic problems work quite well as cute little wooden toys. If that sounds appealing to you, give this project a look: Zoomates is a colorful, minimalist woodblock puzzle that includes several ways to play, and it's available on Kickstarter right now.
Tom Brinton of Gladden Design is running the Zoomates project, and they've already reached their funding goal required to make the project a reality. Gladden has previously designed some other cool puzzle-y products like their Paper Apps DUNGEON, a little notebook filled with randomly generated roll-and-write dungeon-crawl levels, which is available to add to your Zoomates pledge. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on all these slick looking toys.
