Last year our inaugural ThinkyCon was a huge success: a free digital convention filled with expert talks from the developers, producers, researchers & artists that make up the world of thinky games. The wide variety of deep-dive lectures and post-mortems were as much a delight to us as to all of you, and it's all happening again this year, from the 5th to the 7th of November.
Join us on our YouTube channel or our official Discord server starting on Wednesday, November 5th to watch 3 days worth of talks from people working in the industry of puzzle-adjacent games, whether they're solo developers expounding their game design principles, experts discussing the production and marketing of thinky games, or anyone in between who's knowledgeable and passionate about some relevant part of the process.
The entire line-up of 29(!) talks from last year are all still available to watch free on our YouTube channel, and you can see the whole spread laid out if you scroll down the new ThinkyCon homepage. We hosted guests from Draknek & Friends, Strange Scaffold, and the New York Times, as well as developers like Lenophie (Pâquerette Down the Bunburrows), Elyot Grant (Islands of Insight) and Jason Newman (Isles of Sea and Sky). My personal favorite talk from last year might be our friend Knexator diving incredibly deep into the layout and shape of a very simple and very famous sokoban level.
ThinkyCon 2025 is currently in the works, and we're gathering talent from all corners of the industry: if you're someone who works closely with games you'd consider thinky, please pitch us a talk that you'd like to share with the community at this year's event! We love to hear new perspectives and outside-the-box ideas for presentations.
See you at ThinkyCon the first week of November!
