The Entropy Centre gets a free level editor, letting players make their own puzzle creations

Matt Fuller, 31 March 2023

Stubby Games, the developer behind the excellent time-bending first-person puzzle game The Entropy Centre, has just released a brand new level editor that is completely free for PC players, allowing anyone to create their own levels and share them with the community.

The new editor will include all the assets found in the game, including the various puzzle blocks, switches, and items used in the game's puzzles. Budding designers can use it to create any combination or type of puzzle, with the freedom to construct the entire layout to your specifications. You can check out the trailer and see some creations for yourself; they might even give you some ideas.

To celebrate the release of this new update, Stubby Games is also running a competition for people to enter their custom levels. You can check in on their discord server for further information. Some great prizes are up for grabs, including a next-gen console with a lifetime supply of games from publisher Playstack, or even a mentorship day with The Entropy Centre's developer and publisher!

The editor will only be available on the PC version of the game for now, but all versions of The Entropy Centre will have access to the community-made maps, so players on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One will be able to enjoy all the new user-created content.

I loved The Entropy Centre when I played it last year, and felt it was “a damn good showcase of some of the best parts of the first-person puzzle genre.” I’d recommend checking it out, and if it catches your interest, maybe try your hand at designing a puzzle of your own!
