The developer of Strange Jigsaws and 20 Small Mazes has announced a new game, and you'll never guess the title

Corey Hardt, 28 February 2026

20 More, Somehow Even Smaller, Mazes is expected sometime soon in 2026. It's the third game in a playful little series from the boundary-pushing designer FLEB, following 20 Small Mazes and Strange Jigsaws. These have been some of my favorite game experiences in recent memory, and I'm excited to hear another is on the way. A trailer has been released for this new sequel, but, um... I'll just let it speak for itself:

The trailer for the first Mazes game was pretty minimal, but this one gives new meaning to the word. Perhaps the brevity of the trailer is proportionate to the "somehow even smaller" game we're getting this time around. It even looks like all these new mazes might be present on just one shared screen? They definitely look to be up to the strangeness standard this charming little series of games has established.

20 Small Mazes was a true delight when it showed up out of nowhere in 2024, doing exactly what the title promised but in such a surprising and playful way that you can't help but smile. As the trailer for that game suggests, these mazes are each unique affairs that have some unusual gimmick or theme for you to grapple with: one lets you "fold" the paper it lives on, one lets you be the maze and move around the characters navigating your passages.

Strange Jigsaws did similar things with a new format, turning the ancient realm of jigsaw puzzles on its head and trying out all sorts of lateral-thinking wackiness with them. The game is unabashedly tongue-in-cheek, doing riffs on all sorts of different videogame mechanics as well as creating some very clever logic puzzles within an unusual framework. Jigsaws was nominated for several Thinky Awards including Game of the Year and Most Innovative, and I gave it a shout-out in our "favorites of the year" article too.

You can wishlist 20 More, Somehow Even Smaller, Mazes on Steam now, and you can also check out the lovely talk that FLEB recorded for our annual convention ThinkyCon earlier this year. It's short and thought provoking, just like their games.
