Planet of Lana is a cinematic sci-fi puzzle adventure from Wishfully released recently that features stunning visuals, a thoughtful story, and diverse and exciting puzzles, and it's worth checking out.
The story of Planet of Lana revolves around young Lana's journey to rescue her people after they are taken by robot invaders. Along the way, you'll encounter new environments, creatures, and experience an emotionally rich story as you explore the game's world.
The puzzles of Planet of Lana involve many of the usual features found in puzzle platforming games — pushing blocks, switches, climbing, and stealthy sections — but are enhanced with the help of Mui, Lana’s cute cat-like companion who becomes an integral part of how you tackle the game's puzzles. Mui can jump higher, get to hard-to-reach areas, and be given commands by the player to help players throughout the game, and they are very cute to boot. On your journey, you'll explore a planet full of colourful environments filled with incredible scenery and visuals, complimented by a fantastic soundtrack, making this a worthwhile adventure to get lost in.
I was lucky enough to try Planet of Lana a few months back and play some of the early levels, and I found it to be a great experience. The game’s charm, character, and incredible visuals really caught my eye, and it was a pleasant puzzle platformer that reminded me of classics like Another World and Heart of Darkness, albeit with a fresh coat of paint.
Check out the game's Steam page if this sounds like your kind of adventure, and if you decide to try it yourself, you can purchase the game for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and on PC via Steam, GoG, and the Epic Games Store.
