Moonleap, the platforming puzzle game from developer guselect, released recently on Steam, iOS, and Android. It's a charming and challenging game filled with great puzzles, beautiful pixel art, and excellent level design. It also features a cute little moon boy.
Moonleap has players take control of a “moon boy” on a journey to find and collect shooting stars. You’ll make your way through 50 handmade levels, each with different quirks and puzzles that players must overcome to find them.
It's a pretty straightforward puzzle platformer, giving players the challenge of jumping across gaps and enemies to progress. The unique twist comes from the ability to swap between day and night. Each time you jump the time of day will switch, and with it, certain aspects of the level will change: spikes growing and receding, enemies sleeping or moving, or vines becoming climbable. You'll need to learn to use your time-changing mechanic while discovering new elements the game introduces as you take on more challenging puzzles. On top of that, Moonleap features beautifully crafted pixel art graphics that are colourful and vibrant, and those looking for an extra challenge can take on and discover secret and optional levels to go for 100% completion.
If this charming little platformer sounds like your kind of game, head over to the game's Steam page or check it out on the App Store or Google Play Store! You can also read Hira’s thoughts on an earlier version of the game.
