Trans Neuronica is a puzzle game about making connections, in both its gameplay and its story. Coming to Steam soon, it's a game based on the numberlink format of paper puzzles that aims to subvert the usual genre experience through simple yet interesting levels and world building.
In Trans Neuronica, players take on the role of an AI tasked with completing a series of puzzles for humans who ask for your assistance. As you progress through the game, you'll be able to decide what you tell the humans who have brought you online. Will they be able to handle the “catastrophic truth”, or do you have doubts about the humans you are helping? It’s not the game's focus, but the inclusion of some world-building and story elements gives the game some flavour, and invites your mind to wander with the possible outcomes.
When you aren't dealing with humans, you'll be solving one of the game's 45+ puzzles. These involve you linking corresponding nodes to each other on a puzzle grid, with the catch that lines connecting nodes cannot cross over each other. On top of that, some new mechanics add challenge and variety, all with the intent to do something different from the traditional numberlink style of play. Trans Neuronica has logic, precision, and even some form of boss battles, giving players plenty to explore and discover.
If this sounds like a game you would love to try, head over to the game's Steam page and check it out, wishlist, and be ready to jump in when the game launches on 22 May.
