First we solved puzzles with farts — now Plants vs Zombies developer All Yes Good have just released Hardhat Wombat, a cute new excrement-themed puzzle-platformer. You don’t shoot down zombies with peas this time, but instead play as an adorable little wombat all outfitted in construction garb. Your job? Deftly stack blocks of poo to construct buildings and deal with any construction-site issues that may arise!
This game concept comes from the real-world fact that wombats produce cube-shaped poop. There are so many questions I would like to ask the developers, but I’m not sure where to start…
So let’s dive into the mechanics of the game instead: deposit blocks of “waste” in the provided outlines, representing construction plans, as you build “impressive poo structures”. Use gum bubbles to float to new heights and expand your building! Destroy enemies with the contents of your behind! A variety of problems await you, all of which can apparently be solved with this single crude answer.
Get ready for 92 levels that include using dynamite for that extra kick and hunting for beetles (presumably of the dung variety). Honestly I’m most excited for the Daily Gauntlet, as I can compete with other players for poop stacking supremacy. What better to show off my puzzle-solving skills than to be number one at number two?
