A new "mini-expedition" has just been announced by the puzzle veterans at Draknek & Friends, a short new adventure featuring the protagonist we know and love from A Monster's Expedition, A Good Snowman is Hard to Build, and Cosmic Express. The Electrifying Incident takes the monster through a mysterious lab facility, restoring busted systems and avoiding electrocution with the help of their trusty extendable grabber-arm, capable of moving blocks at a distance and even bending around corners.
Just announced today, the new game is planned for release in April, but you can already play a demo on Steam. The tagline "A Monster Mini-Expedition" seems to refer to the smaller size of this outing in comparison to the big flagship releases they starred in previously: the Steam page for The Electrifying Incident claims the game will take "30-90 minutes for most players." Personally I'm always in the mood for a more manageable, not-so-overwhelming puzzle game.
It might interest you to know that the official new Steam demo is not technically the only way you can get a preview of what's in store in this new release: as with many of Alan Hazelden's games, this one builds on the DNA of a small PuzzleScript prototype that he made years ago. Cyber Lasso is where the mechanical-grabber-arm idea was first birthed, and even features a vaguely eerie-science-facility setting.
The Electrifying Incident will be available on itch.io or Steam, and you can wishlist and play the demo now on the latter. I'll be sure to keep you appraised of any new info regarding a release date, which we're expecting to be sometime in April.
