A first-person horror game where the monsters are the puzzle.

Zenomatrix is an unusual blend of first-person puzzling and horror, specifically designed to explore horror mechanics as puzzles. Your goal is to survive each puzzle chamber by avoiding terrifying statues that move only when you aren't looking.
In each Zenomatrix puzzle, the task is reach the exit door without getting caught by the statues. These statues, similar to SCP-173 or Doctor Who's weeping angels, stand still when you're looking at them, but will move towards you when you look away. Rather than simply make a run for it, however, you'll need to plan a careful route around them and to keep your path to the exit open.
New mechanics are introduced throughout the game that add further depth to the puzzles. For example, you may need to flip a switch to open a door, but of course, to interact with the switch you'll need to look away from the statues. This requires logically working out a sequence of steps that keep the statues where you need them while you perform other tasks throughout the puzzle.
As Zenomatrix is a horror game, players will likely find aspects of the game unsettling, such as the way the statues move, the sounds they make, or the creepy aesthetic of the game's 90s CGI-inspired world. If you're particularly susceptible to it, the statues may also make you jump when they're suddenly behind you, although there are otherwise no unexpected jump scares.
