Reshape the landscape and open up the path to an old man's memories.
Old Man’s Journey is a narrative point-and-click game about helping a man on a long trip by laying out the path before him. It takes place in a vibrant world split up into layers of terrain which can be moved up and down to line up with each other. The ability to move parts of the setting as well as the pastel, watercolor style make Old Man’s Journey feel like a children’s pop-up book.
In each setting, you have a few layers of terrain to work with that overlap each other. Some parts of the full picture may be hidden at first. To move the character, you simply click where you want him to end up. The old man can only move to another layer if the one he’s currently standing on intersects it.
The game starts with a letter being delivered to the man’s house, which prompts him to set off on foot, train, and a few ships. Along the way, you have to get around obstacles as diverse as crumbling walls, boat wreckage, and herds of sheep. While traveling, you’ll catch glimpses of the main character’s memories and piece together his reason for embarking on this heartfelt journey.
