A minimalist adventure that takes place entirely on a line.

Linelight is a minimalist puzzle adventure about controlling a luminous dash over a line network. The game develops its very own puzzle design through a limited set of obstacles and secondary dashes, all carefully positioned in pared-down line levels. Solving the levels and completing the dash’s journey requires both logical reasoning and precise inputs.
Linelight is made of several worlds, each presenting a succession of puzzles connected by a continuous line — the one your white dash glides onto. A few puzzles rely exclusively on activating the right switches to toggle line segments, but most of them combine these static elements with secondary, mobile dashes. For instance, red dashes are always on the move and you should never let them come in contact with you, otherwise the level will reset. Orange dashes should not be touched either, but they won’t move unless you do, so you could manipulate one to toggle a segment right when you need it to.
The dashes you’ll encounter will change as you progress from one world to the next, but the accuracy requirement is pretty much a constant. Despite its soft and glowy visuals, Linelight is what you could call a “precision-puzzler”, with multiple puzzles involving both precise positioning and time-sensitive inputs. Colorblind players could also have a hard time completing the game, since it relies heavily on colors to characterize the different types of dashes.
The challenges of each world come in several layers. The overall objective is to get to the very end of the main line, which requires tackling multiple puzzles along the way, but not all. Solving optional rooms will grant you additional yellow stars. There are also hidden rooms to find off the main path, with harder levels that will grant you green stars. Finally, you can revisit each world in sections and compete against the clock to clear them as fast as possible.
