Dragonsweeper is a free strategy web game about clearing a dungeon of its monsters and defeating the dragon at its center. Monsters are revealed via Minesweeper-like gameplay, requiring careful logical deductions to determine which tiles are safest to explore next. With the help of the in-game "monsternomicon", you'll need to devise a strategy to defeat the monsters, level up, and prepare yourself for the final battle.

Each session of Dragonsweeper begins with a level 15 dragon at the center of a 13x10 grid. This grid is also filled with many other monsters, but these monsters must be revealed by exploring the grid in a Minesweeper-like fashion. You are given two orbs to begin with, which each reveal a 3x3 area around them, but you must then choose which tiles to explore based on any revealed numbers. As in Minesweeper, each numbers tell you something about the surrounding tiles, but in this case it is the total level of all monsters in those tiles.

The level of each monster determines how much damage your character, the brave dragon slayer Jorge, will take when that monster is revealed. Jorge begins with 5 hearts, but can level up by collecting gold acquired from defeated monsters and hidden chests. Therefore, to defeat the level 15 dragon and complete the game, Jorge must reach 15 hearts in total. To reach that goal, you must carefully decide which monsters to defeat, narrowly avoiding death while gaining enough information about nearby tiles to explore further. However, death is not all bad, as it reveals the entire dungeon layout, from which you may be able to identify some common patterns.

While Dragonsweeper may initially feel impossible, it encourages you to use the monsternomincon and your meticulous observation skills to improve your strategy and ultimately slay the dragon at the heart of the dungeon.
