Double Trip is a grid-based sokoban puzzle game about two jelly blobs exploring an archipelago. Teamwork is at the center of the game, as the blobs need to help each other pushing stones and logs to create bridges and reach the exit portal in each room. Double Trip expands on very classic sokoban mechanics and offers a small relaxing experience; it shines even brighter when played in co-op.

The game includes two control schemes. By default, you control one character at a time and you can switch between both characters whenever you want. But there’s also a 2-player mode allowing you to play with someone in local co-op, controlling both blobs at the same time from a shared keyboard or with controller inputs. (Note that even in 2-player mode, the game will process all your inputs into a sequence of movements either from one character or the other, such that it never involves the kind of complex simultaneous movement you could find in Ligo or in advanced Baba Is You levels.)

Double Trip's puzzles are designed around simple elements: they only use stones and logs as pushable items. Stones act as your classic sokoban cubes and can create bridges if pushed inside holes. Logs, on the other hand, will roll until they hit an obstacle if pushed on the side and can create bridges over water (as in A Monster’s Expedition). The goal of each puzzle is to make both jelly characters reach the exit portal, which is usually located on the other side of a hole or across a patch of water.

Although the mechanics are simple, Double Trip's emphasis on teamwork still leads to tricky situations. Thinking for two is unconventional, there is no special interaction to be found but the lack of room is used to great effect. Several types of puzzles are featured in Double Trip. The normal ones are very approachable while the optional ones are somewhat harder. Reaching an optional puzzle also always requires you to solve an overworld puzzle before — which often ends up being the most challenging part.

The environments of Double Trip are intended to be as relaxing and approachable as its main quest puzzles. Everything in the game is made to be as soothing as possible, from the music to the peaceful setting with the sound of the ocean and the wind blowing. The demo features 6 levels that are not part of the full game, so you could check it out either before playing the game or after completing it if it leaves you wanting for more!
