A playful puzzle book with clipped instructions.
BoBoGram is a free pen and paper puzzle book which adds a layer of rule discovery to nonograms. The how-to-play section will tell you how to solve the puzzles… except some of the sentences are cut off by formatting errors. Though this may look like a mistake, the main challenge of BoBoGram is figuring out what parts of the rules were omitted from the book.
You can either print out a PDF of BoboGram or play the interactive web version. In total, there are 30 nonogram puzzles to solve. Each puzzle has symbols that define a unique set of cells to be colored in. There may be numbers around the border of the grid, shapes inside of it, or both. If there are multiple grids, that means there is also a 3D element to the puzzle.
Some of the rules may be familiar to those who have played other nonogram puzzles. However, the other rules will need to be inferred by trying different patterns on the grids. BoBoGram won’t tell you whether your solutions are valid or not, so you’ll need to have a clear idea of the rules to move on to more complex puzzles.
