The Cerebral Puzzle Showcase ends with a bang! As a celebration of all things puzzle games, this first time event went over well with both audiences and developers alike. Hundreds of puzzle games participated in the event organised by Draknek and Friends. I meandered over to their Steam page to find discounts, livestreams, and so much more!
These are my top 5 games from the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase!
5. The Forgotten City
Go back 2000 years and save the inhabitants of this ancient Roman city. Will you manage to escape the Golden Rule?
Fight back against hordes of golden statues and explore the forgotten city!
4. Freshly Frosted
This game is making me hungry for doughnuts. What I can do here though is puzzle my way round this factory to sweet, sweet freedom. Do I get a chocolate-coated sprinkle doughnut as a prize?
3. The Pedestrian
Takes crossing roads to a whole new level. I think I'll stick to being more careful. Puzzle platforming is my jam, but crossing roads isn't as easy as it sounds.
2. Recursive Ruin
We all seek meaning. What you do in a world built from M C Escher and Salvador Dali's hybrid dreams, looping infinitely? Find a way out? Find meaning?
Or just savour the dreamscape you have found yourself in? It's your choice.
1. Inscryption
Winner of both IGF and GDC 2021, Daniel Mullins brings forth a fourth-wall breaking, psychological horror, rougelike puzzle deckbuilder. Whew, that's a lot of words to describe the game.
Honestly, though? I think it's not enough. I implore you to play it.
I'm looking forward to next year's Cerebral Puzzle Showcase, and if you're like me, you would have followed them on Twitter and subscribed for updates on their website.
Lastly, don't forget to let me know which game(s) are your favourites in the comments!
