Vextorial

Vextorial is a puzzle platformer about a 2D creature exploring a 3D space. By rotating the 2D world to shift gravity and switching to 3D to move into other planes, you'll need to traverse mind-contorting spaces to reach the goal in each puzzle.

In Vextorial, you play as Pilo, a cute creature searching for their missing brother. Pilo has the space-bending power to switch between 2D and 3D, allowing them to traverse space in perplexing ways. In 2D mode, Pilo can only move around within a single plane, but can rotate the world (and gravity with it) by touching one of the plane's edges. Switching to 3D mode reveals that this plane is actually just one face on the inside of a cube and that the edges are passageways from one face to the next.

Solving each puzzle in Vextorial requires observing the 3D space and planning a route through it. You’ll need to factor in Pilo’s limited jump height, boxes that can be pushed and pulled, and the ability to rotate gravity. In addition, the fact that the planes are arranged like faces of a cube adds an additional layer of complexity to how these spaces can be traversed.

Throughout the game, you'll be introduced to further mechanics that affect your ability to traverse these spaces, such as blocks that toggle their solidity whenever Pilo rotates the world and buttons that open and close gates.

The puzzles are not only constrained to the levels themselves, as the level select screen is itself a confounding space to navigate through, with various secrets and extra challenging bonus puzzles hidden throughout.
